Infections

Several studies have conclusively linked over crowding or poor ventilation in buildings, with an increase frequency of illnesses that are spread from infectious respiratory secretions distributed by air.

Serious infections can occur due to the spread of infectious material through air-conditioning systems, from the mostly minor complaints of colds, to the serious infections that can be fatal. Epidemics of such infections are sometimes associated with colonisation of air-conditioning systems by moulds. The spread of infections such as "Golden Staff" could possibly aided greatly by the environment present in the air-conditioning systems.
