Riser Cleaning

The riser cleaner has been designed to be used in vertical shafts. It uses compressed air to dislodge the dust and contaminants adhering to the walls of the vertical shaft.

It is typically, a large metal ball with a number of flexible tentacles radiating from its equator.

The Riser Cleaner works by the action of high-pressure air dislodging the dust and contaminants. Almost any size riser can be tackled with the Riser Cleaner with only the need to have access at the top and the base of the riser. The Riser Cleaner is inserted at the top and slowly lowered and raised. The Air extraction unit is attached drawing off the dust and contaminants as they are dislodged. The action of the flailing tentacles is such that ball "walks" around the perimeter of the riser cleaning each vertical surface as it travels around. The operator controls the Riser Cleaner to descend and rise in such a manner that all surfaces are cleaned.
